Scouting America’s Mecklenburg County Council is once again Scouting for Food to support Nourish Up. Scouts will go door-to-door across Mecklenburg County collecting non-perishable items. Last year, the community donated 185,000 lbs. of food to help nourish our neighbors.
How It Works
The week before Feb. 7, Scouts will place Scouting for Food door hangers (provided by Harris Teeter) throughout the county.
If you receive one, simply leave a bag or box of non-perishable food outside by 9 a.m. on Feb. 7 for Scout pickup.
Priority Needs – No glass or expired items, please.
- Canned fruit (no sugar added)
- Canned meat (tuna, chicken, salmon)
- Canned vegetables (no salt added)
- Pasta (canned or dry)
