Today was opening day for our newest pantry at Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church, just in time for Thanksgiving! Clients were able to shop the pantry, hand-selecting the groceries they knew their families would like for the upcoming holiday.
“I told the volunteers today, ‘Put a smile on your face, you never know what somebody might be going through. Let’s pick them up and let them know we’re here for them.’” – Robbie, Pantry Coordinator
Robbie expressed how important opening this pantry was to her, “I am over the moon with the volunteers and the people who have visited the pantry already. We are a beacon of light for people to be able to come and get food, I think that’s what really tipped the scale for us.” She also emphasized, “It makes me realize that there is so much more work that needs to be done.”
We’re grateful to everyone who made this day possible and look forward to working together to nourish our neighbors with food and compassion.
